Why one-on-one tutoring?
Personalization is the whole point of private tutoring. If a tutor isn't building everything around you, you're paying a premium for what a good book could do cheaper. But personalization is only as good as the diagnostics behind it, and that's the hard part.
Most tutors understand and can explain the test. Elite tutors understand and can explain you — your reasoning, your methodology, and your mistakes — often down to the single word that threw you. That's what I do best in a teaching skillset built over a decade of teaching and 500-plus students. I don't just tell you why the right answer is right. I tell you exactly why you didn't get there and show you how to eliminate the mistake.
What I teach
The LSAT is really two challenges, and I don't teach them the same way. Here's an honest account of what I bring to each.
Logical Reasoning
Two of the three scored sections are Logical Reasoning, so this is where most of your score lives. On fundamentals, I'll match the best instruction anywhere — every concept and question type taught clearly, no gaps papered over. On diagnostics I pull ahead: when you can't see what you're missing, I can find the fault line in your reasoning and explain it with clarity.
But tactics and strategy are where I really go deeper than anyone. Most tutors leave these as incidental byproducts of good fundamentals. I treat them as their own disciplines, with detailed methods to practice deliberately and assess precisely.
Reading Comprehension
The prep industry never cracked RC, and anyone who's slogged through an RC curriculum can feel it. I've thought about this section longer and harder than anyone, and I teach it through two systems I built myself.
The first is the Semantics Toolkit— a complete fundamentals system for how meaning is actually built on the page, replacing the vague "read for structure, pay attention, and summarize" everyone else recycles.
The second is the Banter Method. Where the LSAT orthodoxy treats a passage as a structure to map and summarize, Banter draws on the actual scholarship of how reading comprehension works to develop your voice as a reader. A passage isn't a lecture to endure — it's a conversation the reader builds with the author. You learn the Toolkit first, until the fundamentals are second nature. Then Banter is how you actually engage the passage to build meaning that sticks.
Each includes monthly video reviews in which I will create detailed video breakdowns responding to assignments you’ll complete independently between lessons.
